About Me

As an artist, I strive to capture the unique curves of each petal as I paint. By carefully controlling the flow of water on the brush, I skillfully craft each petal and leaf. I add fine detailing in my attempt to capture nature's perfection. I believe negative space is carefully designed so that every shape contributes to the energy of the composition. In my floral closeups, I want the viewer to appreciate the beauty of nature while recognizing the subject. Ultimately, I hope for the viewer's awareness of the subtleties and nuances of all flowers. I also hope to resonate vitality to the painting to touch the viewer.

Welcome to Lisa Darrow Watercolors

I paint flowers from a bee's-eye view. I think flowers are the prima ballerinas of plants. Their breathtaking grace and beauty captivate me. The paintings that I create are the types that I would buy and live with--something that would have a positive presence in my life. I like paintings that remind me to take joy in the small things; fleeting moments that are often taken for granted. I hope you enjoy the sampling of my most recent watercolor paintings. If you would like additional information about a piece, you can contact me at ldarrow1@verizon.net.
